When using our products, services and training programs our clients are employing the expertise of chemists, engineers and training specialists who monitor regulatory changes and can help clarify compliance needs.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the Regulatory Department which includes overall supervision and effective operation of the department which includes but limited to HR and staffing and delivery of all avenues of our services and training products and programs. This position will contribute to the success of the “overall business” of ICC and ensure the company’s integrity as an industry leader is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of regulatory professionals so to surpass customers’ expectations
  • Drive the value proposition of ICC through our Products, Services and Training;
  • Ensure a positive ROI for all of the department offerings and programs;
  • Evaluate new approaches to deliver services and training to increase efficiencies and competitiveness;
  • Oversee scheduling of training instructors by Training Coordinators;
  • Provide regulatory training pertaining to all modes of dangerous goods shipping and work place hazards;
  • Develop, update and improve all training courses, materials and regulatory publications;
  • Develop tracking system for work in progress and to lead times;
  • Review procedures for development of best practices for programs & regulatory publications;
  • Identify & participate in trade association meetings to maintain high profile status in industry;
  • Provide high level conceptual input to Sales & Marketing for campaigns;
  • Evaluate competitors’ goods and services to remain competitive in industry;
  • Provide Sales with guidelines for submitting comprehensive proposals for regulatory services;
  • Evaluate how to effectively outsource certain regulatory services;
  • Ensure regulatory staff maintains contact information for support calls for possible sales opportunities;

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of WHMIS, OSHA/ANSI, 49CFR, TDG, IATA, IMDG, EU CLP, GHS, CCCR, CPSC and/or other regulations as applicable;
  • 8 plus years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and CRM software;
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to focus efforts in the best interest of clients;
  • Capacity to adapt positively to evolving situations;
  • Aptitude to analyze and solve problems;
  • Ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment;
  • University or college graduate in sciences, chemistry or engineering an asset;
  • Fluently bilingual in English and French or Spanish an asset.
